Orthopaedic Surgery e-Learning Portal (http://ortho.med.umich.edu) - Implemented a
wiki-based e-learning portal to support the evolving needs & learning preferences of the
orthopaedic surgery residency program. Designed as a mobile first platform to unify access to
content including faculty presentation materials, curriculum materials, trainee generated
content, articles, grand rounds recordings and surgical demonstration videos.
Research Scholar
Motion at Michigan Medicine (http://motion.med.umich.edu) - Developed a mobile app designed
to guide patients undergoing joint replacement through their pre- and post-operative course.
Motion uses Apple Healthkit, ResearchKit and CareKit technologies to deliver timely education,
improve engagement with care pathways and assess outcomes in context including activity metrics.
Motion was developed as a platform to conduct clinical research and was adapted after its
initial release to support research on pain and opioid use following surgery. Released on the
iOS App Store, August 2017.
Patient Safety/Quality Innovator
Outcome (http://outcome.med.umich.edu, access restricted to UMHS network) -
Developed
tablet and server software package for collection and reporting of patient reported outcomes
measures for Joint Replacement, Spine and Trauma services. This software package also
facilitates preoperative radiographic planning for hip replacement for the Joint Replacement
service.
